Expanding the Input of Public Policy

At its core, public policy seeks to find the “best” solutions for a variety of issues—but we often only center the needs and perspectives of a select group of people. The American Political Science Association recognizes that a “one-size-fits-all approach” to policy is failing us, and that we need to elevate perspectives outside of the “norm” and begin from a young age. The younger generation is more diverse in thought and experiences than any other before, and our analysis is just as important and advanced.

Interdisciplinary Focus

The Journal of Interdisciplinary Public Policy is a non-partisan space for youth to explore and analyze policy, but emphasizes a focus on interdisciplinary thinking. To us, “interdisciplinary” is three dimensional: in experiences & identity, medium, and subject matter. With our focus on diverse authors, free choice of medium, and combining fields of study, every edition of the Journal of Interdisciplinary Public Policy understands these three metrics for a specific topic.
