The Evolution of Liberty

Special Issue | March 2021

This special issue, led by Sarah Moon and assisted by Maanas Sharma, brings a diverse, global set of perspectives about the progression of liberty over time. The issue begins with a central pair of essays arguing that we are more/less free than 200 years ago and continues with analyses of four critical developments in freedom (feminism, decolonization, LGBTQ+ equality, and modern human rights) in a variety of styles.
